Some other garden styles can be classified as "national" styles. These styles of garden may be Italian, Japanese, English, Spanish and American. American gardens are laid down in the south, desert in the Southwest and others.

Many times, the style of a garden is determined by climate and location. Gardens located in Arizona, for example, must be of a different style of those at in northern colder climates. And the plants in the gardens of the south with its lush vegetation and flowers exaggerated do not live in the desert either hot or cold, snowy weather.

Therefore, one can see that the style of your garden is closely linked to weather conditions surrounding it.

Gardens also can be defined in a formal or informal style. For example, a simple rose garden may seem totally different when planted in a garden style of the cabin when planted in a more formal geometric style.

When it comes to deciding on a style for your garden, first look at their geographical location. Then consider what style you have in your home. Is it more informal or formal enough? This will give you a starting point for designing your garden.

Now, decide how will use the space. Will you be having family barbecues or going to do more formal entertaining? Do you have children or pets that need a closed area or lawn to play?

Then take a look at the trees and buildings. You need adequate shade (or sun) for certain flowers and plants.

Once you have taken these issues into account, you can start your real garden plan. Develop a plan for your garden. Even a sketch of the space where your garden will be and where each element (such as flowers, leaves, stone, or pond) can be a great help in planting your beautiful new garden.

Now all you have to make is that the plant!
