What Is Infill And Durafill?

Synthetic grass is engineered to be long lasting and durable for several years. Artificial turf manufacturers are constantly improving the composition of turf products to meet high quality expectations. A significant component used to maintain the quality of synthetic grass is infill. Infill consists of pebble-like granules that are spread below the turf surface in between grass blades, acting as a cushioning layer. Infill also helps to keep synthetic grass blades upright and standing. There are artificial grass products on the market that do not require infill, stating that it is not necessary. However, these non-infill turf products are not long lasting and can wear out quickly without the presence of a cushioning and supporting infill layer. Also, the appearance of non-infill synthetic turf can be flat, since polyethylene blades have a natural tendency to remain flat without infill. Infill proves to be a necessary component for synthetic grass of all purposes.

Rubber, sand, or a mixture of both make up artificial turf infill. Rubber is granulated and can be recycled from old tires for infill. Sand is ground into round silica to prevent abrasiveness. This helps to act as a cushion without creating a surface that is too hard. This cushioning is significant to all types of synthetic turf, including sports and field turf that undergoes high-level performance and activity. Since several field sports, such as soccer, require surface contact with cleats, rubber granules keep infill from being moved around by sharp or pronged footwear. A softer layer is also crucial for turf used in yards, for families and pets alike. Infill helps with turf drainage systems, allowing rain and other liquids to easily permeate. While rubber infill is good, a mix of rubber and sand can be more beneficial. However, the best infill on the market today is Durafill. While it is usually more expensive than rubber or rubber and sand infill, it proves to be the most ideal.

The most technologically advanced infill system on the market today is Durafill, exclusive to Tiger Express Landscape's artificial turf product line. Durafill is unique because it does not degrade over time, maintaining pellet solidity and structure. Thus, the infill never needs to be replaced once it has been placed on the turf. Tiger Express Landscape's pet-friendly turf line benefits from Durafill because it does not absorb pet urine or waste. This helps pet turf to deflect unpleasant odors. Durafill's ability to create permeability for artificial grass ensures that collection of rain, water, and other liquids does not build up within the grass. This prevents the growth of bacteria and spores within the artificial turf.

Durafill meets eco-friendly standards and is not composed of heavy metals, silica dust, or zinc. The abstaining from using these materials also reduces health risks related to zinc , chromium, lead, and other heavy metals. It does not absorb heat and will not contribute to hot temperatures on turf surfaces. Durafill continues to be the leading infill system on the synthetic grass market today, helping to preserve and keep artificial turf looking and feeling the most natural.

How heavy of a lawn roller can a garden tractor pull?

I am building a lawn roller out of a 300 gallon gas tank. I am going to fill it with water. At 8 lbs a gallon i am looking a 2400lbs plus weight of tank(125-200lbs). So Total weight will be about 2500-2700lbs. I have a john deere 3520 that would pull it no problem. But the tires are the industrial tires that are between ag and turf. They dont tear up the yard to bad but still leave their mark. I am afraid that if i use the JD to pull the roller the tractor and roller will just cancel eachother out and not really make the ground smooth. I have also got a case 444 that has turf tires and is a garden tractor but seems to be built more like the bigger tractors.(bigger back tires etc.) My question is would this pull the roller if i made the tounge long enough? Or would the JD with the industrial tires not be that bad and would still roll the yard good?

If you are using that to roll an existing lawn, the lawn will be crushed into oblivion.
If you are rolling soil for planting, it will compact the soil so that roots will not be able to penetrate the soil.
For a lawn roller, it's overkill.

Comprehensive Riding Lawn Mower Reviews

If considering new tires for your lawn tractor, you have five main types from which to choose. Each has its pros and cons, so let's examine each one successively. Riding lawn mower reviews are an important process.

Round Shoulder Turf Tire: Round shoulder grass tires are mainly raised for front tires concerning lawn tractors. The tread degree is relatively low in reducing the potential problems for turf and many other surfaces when switching. They do have a bit of tread, however, available some traction.

Square Shoulder Turf Tire: Square shoulder tires are frequently mounted on the rear wheels. They have a bigger footprint compared to a round shoulder versions, and a part of an edge with regard to better traction in addition to cornering. Because they've got a larger presence, they're a good tire to use in wet or soft ground as they won't sink in it as deeply.

Rib Tread Tire: These tires are being used mostly on the top wheels. They have a very low-profile tread pattern, so they won't dig within the turf and causes minimal damage to your surface. Small garden buggies and hand trucks often use such tires as well for their smooth ride.

Lug Tread Tire: These tires are utilized in applications where traction is really important, such as unfastened soil, uphill driving or even just for plowing perfect. They're used relating to the rear wheels only, but even without turning they are able to still cause some problems for turf because the tread is so aggressive.

Commercial Grade Turf Tire: Commercial grade tires are similar in design on the square shoulder four tires, but they usually are heavier duty, by means of heavier ply reviews and deeper treads for longer life in commercial applications. You'll often obtain them on equipment which include lawn mower and course maintenance vehicles. Which type of tire to get for you might depend on the way in which your tractor will become used. If anyone often drive with soft or loosened surfaces, or pull other equipment for it, you're going to choose a different wheel than if most of your driving is on harder floor. To get the most effective performance from ones own tractor, make sure you select the best type of wheels.

I suspect you got some real use from this info. Great riding lawn mower reviews can be perplexing to come by. Just make certain you do the correct analysis before making any large purchases.
