Stihl Chainsaw Technology
When people learn about STIHL, they believe about old-world care and the handcrafted work of last century's talented workmen. This dedication to quality is what has made the Stihl chainsaw the most well liked on the market over the last eighty years.
Stihl specializes in developing and manufacturing a wide selection of portable power tools, both gas and electrical. When having a look at buying a chainsaw, some required research should be performed, yet, I found when looking around and asking pertinent questions, for example what brand should I look at, most of the time the answer was always... "well, you can't beat a Stihl."
Together with Stihl's dedication and commitment to develop the ultimate product performance comes quite a long list of producing and selling chainsaws.
Andreas Stihl developed the first electrical chainsaw back in 1926. At the time, pro loggers found his innovation extremely useful and were glad to take advantage of it. Andreas Stihl's noticeably improved the lives of many farmers and woodcutters who had to depend on laborious crosscut saws and axes to etch out a living. It was tough going. Timber harvesting was virtually revolutionized by Stihl's invention.
Today, the use of Stihl chainsaws is now not limited to the logging industry and has spread to other fields as well . The chainsaw has become such a versatile tool ; even though it's use amongst pro woodcutters is wide and sundry, it's use has spread to the home owner, where the once strenuous task of chopping firewood has now "become a breeze" thru the application of the reliable chainsaw. The chainsaw has become an important part of the farming landscape ; I remember growing up on our farm and learning to employ a chainsaw at a young age. There always used to be trees that wanted to be trimmed and land cleared. The landscaping industry have adopted the chainsaw as an important part of their make up. Contractors use of the chainsaw involves such things as cutting landscaping and cross ties as well as big trees.
Stihl chainsaws have been constantly refined over the past eighty years. A decrease in weight and increased operating potency is a significant major reason why the chainsaw is no longer proscribed to the professional woodcutting industry. Inventions such as the elastostart, anti-vibration system and improved shock assimilation have catapulted the chainsaw to it's level of flexibility. Twin braking systems and the inertia activated chain brake are far more reasons why Stihl has remained at the pinnacle of the chain saw tree.
in the previous few years, the company has joined the struggle to protect the environment. It has come up with new ideas to develop methodologies that decrease hydrocarbon emissions. This has been a blessing for folk who work in restricted areas.
Andreas Stihl's successors say that his commitment to quality has stayed continued throughout the company's history. Stihl has held it's position in the chainsaw industry thru that very commitment. And there are lots of chainsaw users who would appreciate the lesser workloads they now face due to this flexible machine. You can red more about Stihl Chainsaws at Stihl Chain Saws

can i flip the chain bar on a chain saw?
I have a Stihl chain saw with a 16 inch bar. I cut a cord of dead oak and wore out a new bar so now it cuts crooked. Is it possible to flip the bar and use it or is it one directional.
Hi Justin,
First of all, I'm SHOCKED that you could wear out a Stihl's bar after 1 cord!!! My pal and I cut/split approx. 15 cord per year for ourselves. I've cut over 50 with the current bar on my Stihl Farm Boss and it's still as good as new. You are either not filling the oil EVERY TIME you fuel-up, or your oiling port is clogged. Your saw should consume ALMOST one full reservoir of oil for every tank of gas/oil. If it isn't, and it can't be, your port is clogged. Remove the bar and blow out the saw's body/port with compressed air.
The other thing that will kill your chain/bar is touching the dirt FOR ONE FRACTION OF A SECOND. Do that, and your chains cutting edge is JUNK.........IMMEDIATELY.......
DON"T EVER TOUCH THE GROUND !!! If you do, shut down your machine and sharpen the chain. Dull saw-chain's EAT bars !!
"Flipping the bar" is a very good practice. It works on the same idea of rotating the tires on your car. Just make sure you're using Chain and Bar oil on your bar, and if someone tells you it's o.k. to use ANYTHING else, don't believe them for one second!!
When your saw cuts crooked, it's NOT THE BAR. Saws cut crooked when one side of the saw chain is sharper than the other. Uniform sharpening of both sides of the saw chain is a time-earned skill that takes CONSTANT practice. The BEST way to remedy this is with an electric chain saw sharpener. A Weekend-Warrior version of this is on sale RIGHT NOW at Harbor Freight Tools for $29.99. If you were using this daily, you'd kill it in no time, but it's a GREAT tool/value for anyone using their saws for light/ medium duty trimming/cutting.
As far as bar maintenance goes, with your bar removed from the saw, look lengthwise down the groove. If the bar is "V" shaped, and not flat, it will damage/wear out your new chain in NO TIME. With a fine, flat file, file the bar to bring the top and bottom to 90 degrees with the bar's sides. Remove all burs/sharp edges, and reinstall your chain.
When adjusting your saw-chain's tension, let me help you with another little trick. With your new chain installed, set your saw on a flat surface. Put a piece of wood under the tip of the bar (your chain gets tighter when the tip is lifted). Adjust your chain tension with the bar's tip lifted this way, and the adjustment will hold, and not get too tight as you use the machine. This will get the biggest bang out of your investment(s).
**Special Note""
Before you replace that saw-chain and bar, let me pass on something I learned the hard way. After-market chains CAN'T HOLD A CANDLE TO AN ORIGINAL STIHL. They cut better, last longer, and cut one hell of a lot more logs between sharpenings. You won't find them on-line, because Stihl protects their dealers by making original parts and service available only through dealers to protect not only the reputation of the brand, but the dealers investments in these tough economic times, and I respect them VERY MUCH FOR THAT.......
While you're at your Stihl dealers counter, invest in eye and hearing protection. It's the best investment you'll EVER MAKE !!!

Stihl Chain Saws for Sale at Selected Outlets
Chain saw is home equipment that is quite expensive for the reason that it provides a greater function than usual tools like hammers, pliers etc. Chain saw is normally gas powered however at this time, it is more expensive when companies start producing electric powered saws.
One good question is, are you willing to spend huge amount for this equipment? Is this one of your best priorities for home tools?
Talking about chain saws, there are lots of brands that are popular on the market. However, I have to suggest the brand Stihl realizing that it is the number 1 brand plus they offer items that can cater to different needs at home..
Even though it is expensive in nature, I want to give you a few options on to purchase Stihl Chain Saws For Sale by visiting outlets having discounted prices:
1.) Distribution Outlet. Usually distribution store offer discounts since most of them sell at a "whole sale" price. It is possible to get at least 20%-30% instant discount. But don't worry, you can go to distribution stores even if you will be buying only one; still you will be offered enough discounts.
All you need to do is look for the shops address. I've done this for many brands I actually wanted and that I truly enjoyed obtaining discounts. I want you to enjoy it like I do.
2.) Auction sites. Auction site shows a huge listing of cheap Stihl chain saws. You could find both brand new and also used saws. You can check out the description to make sure that you are buying no matter if brand new or even used. Things I like about auction sites is that goods are priced really low. You have the opportunity to obtain as high as 50% discount for every purchase you make. All you have to do is begin bidding the right price for you to win the competition. Just a tip, eBay is what I can strongly suggest you.
3.) Chain Saw Users. There are many groups as well as organizations in the internet that are trying to find buyers. These people are trying to dispose their old chain saws simply because they wanted to buy a new one or at least they want to lessen those equipments they have in their garage.
Still you can be assured that their products are fully functioning. Also you can meet them to check out the product personally. Plus, you can get huge discounts because it is a personal transaction.
