there is a small animal on our roof that won't go away and is clawing through the ceiling and the painting is starting to peel of the ceiling and everything, we're gettin worried over here because its about to be thanksgiving and the we dont want a rodent in our house.

It's probably a squirrel or a bird; they're the usual suspects. If you have an attic or crawlspace, send someone up there when you don't hear the animal and put up some chicken wire at the openings (joints) of the roof and house that let the house breathe.
