The popular 6x8ft Camo Poly Tarp
Probably the most popular size of camo poly tarp s the 6ftx8ft tarp. The camo tarp is so popular these days because it can be used for so many covering situations. Made from strong woven polyethylene, coated on both sides with one side in olive green, and the other in an army camouflage color. Each tarp is hemmed with a poly rope inserted into the hem to give the tarpaulin extra strength. Most quality camo tarps sold by tarp vendors have rust free aluminum grommets spaced at every 3 ft or less, furthermore many Camouflage tarps have plastic corner reinforcements.
The quality of a camo tarp can vary from 2.0oz per sq yard up to 5.oz per sq yard. Most camo tarps are sold at 3.0oz per sq yard which is regarded as a good quality. When purchasing the tarp make sure the camouflage print is to your liking some vendors sell camo tarps with badly coated camouflage print. All camouflage tarps are printed on one side with the camo design, and after considerable ware and tear the print will show signs of wear. However, the tarp can be used for a long time after the print has worn as the base color is olive green which is very similar to a camouflage color.
All camouflage tarps can be used for so many applications that it would be impossible to list. Some of the main uses are for hunting and fishing certainly they are very useful to camouflage individuals who are on a shoot. Very god for covering a hide for folks who like to go bird spotting. Another application is for covering a tree house. Probably one the main uses for camo tarps is for guys who pursue paint ball shoots. Kids love them for making an army shelter when playing war games. Or simply use the tarps for covering lumber in the back yard or for storing logs for the winter months. Some folks also use camouflage tarps as a ground sheet when camping and also most useful for putting on the grass during a picnic.
Summing up these useful lightweight poly tarps serve as a very useful piece of equipment for so many purposes, and being fully waterproof and economical to purchase they are an ideal item to have in the home.

Which fixing is best for the job – The force is straight out/pull (tension?). Shield anchor or poly resin?
in a rendered brick (London) wall.it holds a 4mm steel rope with a span of 7m, which holds the tail edge of a 25m sq tarp canopy along its whole length, and is currently fixed with an M8 raw bolt eye shield anchor, doing the job fine, but the bolt has pulled out about 6mm over the last couple of days. The shield is static, just the bolt and presumably cone is pulling. Maybe I didn’t tighten it enough – but didn’t want to over tighten. It has been windy so there will be a constant on/off pull out force. Steel rope initially tightened with turnbuckles. Any ideas or tips appreciated. longer/deeper resin fixings to a staple plate appear to be the gold standard, but a quick fix or more efficient re fix (gripfill the hole?) would be better. Or just keep tightening?
Never easy to know what you have got going on behind render, which can cover a multitude of sins. The fixing is only going to be as good as the material you are attaching to no matter how fancy dan it is, in this case you could be into lightweight block or a rough mortar joint.
If it's stock brickwork and you are into a brick rather than a weak lime mortar joint you might be able to get away with re- tightening, although if youar near an edge there is a possibility of it crumbling. Worth trying first - slacken off, tap back and retighten.
If that doesnt do it , and if you can get to the back of the wall my inclination would be to use a length of studding, an eyenut on outside and regular nut c/sk below internal plasterwork possibly with a spreader plate. This should be highly resistant to pulling stresses, and doesn't really depend on the condition of the wall. That's a fair size sail you have going on there so you are right to be cautious about the fixings.

How To Look After a Poly Tarp
The most common tarp out there is probably the kind made from polyethylene. Poly tarps are real workhorses, and show up in gardens, while camping, on roofs and in industrial sites. We mostly think of the standard blue poly tarp, but there are actually lots of colors, grades, and thicknesses. The basic blue tarp works fine for some things, but there are lots of other options out there. Poly tarps are incredibly useful and versatile.
The type you're going to need will vary according to what you want to do with it. Some are just plastic sheets while others are much more carefully made to be long lasting, strong, and durable. Look for high quality tarps that'll weather well and last a long time for the best value. Good quality tarps will be well hemmed, reasonably heavy, UV protected and resistant to mildew, rot and fire. The heavier and thicker the tarp, the more reinforcement it'll need to tolerate stress.
That means that heavier tarps should have closer set grommets, heavier threads and a tighter weave. More grommets mean less stress on the edges, and this a lower likelihood of tearing. Heavier poly tarps are often green, but not always. This is the kind of poly tarp you want to look for for rough use outside. For lighter use, where a cheap tarp is desirable, you can stick with the old standard blue tarp.
Of course, even poly tarps, while low cost and light, have their downsides and maintenance requirements. You'll need to make sure that you take good care of your tarp to extend its lifespan. For instance, always securely tie your tarp to prevent it from flapping while it's being used. This will prevent a lot of stress and damage, since loose tarps tear and sag.
Wash tarps immediately after use - just hosing them down works for most types. Allow the tarp to dry (ideally out of the sun) and fold it carefully once all the moisture is removed. Don't leave your tarp in really hot places, or let it stay folded up for a long time. All you have to do is open it up and shake it out from time to time. And if your tarp starts to get a hole in it, either replace the tarp or repair the hole right away before it can get much bigger. You'll be glad you did, since holes can open back up pretty fast and cause rips and catastrophic tarp failures.
Choosing the right poly tarp for the job and making sure you treat it well are an important part of getting the job done. You'll be surprised at what a difference it can make if you just take a little time to do things right. If you need a new tarp, take the time to look around and get the one that will work best for your needs, then be sure you take care of it. If you look after your poly tarp, it'll serve you well for many years and help you save a lot of money.
