Homemade Propane Fire Pit?
I was wondering if anyone knew if it would be possible to build a custom firepit that ran on propanne by using the internal componits of an old gas BBQ grill. Is there a way you could change the regulation of the gas to increase the size of the flame. I want to place a gas burner into a old kettle grill with a metal grill over the top and fit it into a structure built with brick. using concrete board on top of the brick and cutting the hole for the kettle with an angle grinder. I would run the propane line down the middle and out of the bottom and connect to a propane tank. I would hve to use a lighter or match to light or add a electric starter. I think its a good idea but I dont know if it would work. I dont know alot about propane. If anyone has any insight please share. Thanks
I don't know about using the BBQ burner especially if you have to modify it to work. There's something about playing with fire and getting burned that makes me nervous about your plan. I've posted a link with some gas fire pits. I'd recommend investing in a quality burner that is designed just for what you want to do. Good luck!
