Delicious Salt and Pepper Gobi
Ingredients
* 3 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into 1 "dice or slices salt
* 1 / 2 oz flaked almonds
* 2 tablespoons poppy seeds
* 2 teaspoons ground coriander
* 1 1 / 2 teaspoon whole cumin seeds
* 4 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
* 1 / 2 teaspoon ground ginger
* 8 tablespoons vegetable oil
* 1 medium onion, peeled and finely chopped
* 1 / 4 teaspoon turmeric
* 1 / 8 teaspoon pepper pepper
* 8 fluid ounces plain yogurt
1 teaspoon garam masala
Method:
Dry beans fry poppy seeds, coriander and 1 teaspoon cumin seeds in a small saucepan, stirring frequently until the almonds begin to brown. Set aside. Mix the garlic and ginger with 3 ounces of water in a food processor. Set aside.Heat the oil in a heavy skillet cook everything, and fry the potatoes until they are brown on all sides. Remove potatoes with a slotted spoon and reserve on a plate.
Add remaining cumin seeds to remaining oil in the pan and stir, add the chopped onion, and fry the onion until it turn light brown. Add turmeric and pepper and stir fry for a few seconds. Add the dry mixture to the pan first, and the mixture of moisture from the food processor, and 3 / 4 teaspoon salt.
Stir and fry the mixture. When Very tasty Salt and Pepper Gobi seems to dry add a tablespoon yogurt. Keep stirring, frying, adding tablespoons of yogurt, until all the yogurt is used (it is important to slowly add the yogurt.) Add the garam masala and 4 fluid ounces of water. Mix well and cover the pot tightly. Cook for 30 minutes or until potatoes are tender, stirring occasionally, but always on the cover.
