Why when I close and rub my eyes sometimes do I see multi-colored shapes?
Sometimes when I'm sleepy or have something in my eye that I am trying to get out I close, rub my eye and see multi-colored shapes??
Am I pressing/rubbing some kind of nerve in my eye that would produce these shapes or am I a freak??

Yes, you are pressing on the cells (cones) in your eyes, they can be activated by pressure or by light. The message travels to your brain that the cones have received a signal (been activated) and your brain tells you that you see colour.
