What is Di Hydro Testosterone?
Di hydro testosteroneis a male hormone or an androgen. The main function of androgens is development of bone tissue as well as sex characteristics at puberty stage such as growth of pubic hairs and beards. Di hydro testosterone hormones are more active in embryos and fetuses for developmental in males. The hormone is derived from the combination of 5-alpha-reductase, an enzyme, with the sex hormone testosterone. After birth, the hormone has very insignificant functions in the body. However there may be an increase in its production. This increase leads to the subsequent attachment to hair follicles. When this happens, the hormone inhibits nutrient uptake by the roots causing death and loss of hair.
Loss of hair is a very disturbing event for both men and women. Although this hormone is mostly associated with males, there are some females who produce it. This means that both sexes can be affected by hair loss as a result of the hormone. However, it is more common in men than in women. High levels of the hormone can also lead to the development of prostrate cancer.
The action of the di hydro testosterone on the hair follicles has to be prevented as early as possible. The longer one takes to seek treatment, the more the hair follicles are damaged. There are medications that can be taken that tend to inhibit the production of the hormone and its attachment to the follicles. Testosterone is important in males for the production of sperm, synthesis of proteins, and development of the muscles, penis, body hair and a deep voice. Can a stream support a micro hydro system?
I am looking into alternative energy sources, and micro hydro seems to be, in my opinion, the forerunner in overall cost and power output . I am hoping that a stream with a continuous flow can provide output for all household appliances-big and small. Is this possible?
You have two things to work with: Head and total flow
A stream has no head, so you're stuck with flow.
About the best you can do with this arrangement is an undershot waterwheel. These are low on rotational speed, but high on torque, allowing you to extract a reasonable amount of power if you have sufficient flow.
I know of a person near where I live who runs an undershot wheel in a stream and is able to get close to 2 kw out of it. The number of 2 kw is important because a continuous 2 kw can do a very respectable job of powering a house.
His wheel is reasonably sized. IIRC, it is about 8 ft tall and 4-5 ft wide. I don't remember how deep the buckets are.
