In July, Chinese media reported that China's national flag would be raised by overseas Chinese in the US outside the White House for the first time on September 20, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
The ceremony will indeed take place, according to Fox News, but not on the White House grounds.
Instead, it will be held on the Ellipse, on the other side of E Street from the presidential residence.
