As a "Green Card" holder, am I still eligible to apply to the United States Air Force Academy?
I am a japanese citizen, but i am a permanent resident of the United States. I have a green card and all. I am in high school and is interested in applying to the Air Force Academy. Must I become a citizen in order to apply?
You will run into alot of problems if your not a citizen, although people get paid to fight for other nations miltarys. You would be better off being a legal US citizen before applying, and if your highschool offers AFJROTC or another JROTC program then you should try it out to see what its like. If your looking to the airforce I would watch out because their dropping people for premature glaucoma because they dont want people taking the air force as an easy way of serving a country. If your looking to enroll in the flight program, I would also try to get some hours in, and possibly get your pilots liscence.
