This means that all office fountains can be selected and designed for very specific intentions. For instance, if a subtle sound was desired, the business or office might select a smooth surface that led into a basin full of stones in order to make only the gentlest noise possible. On the other hand, the office space that required a lot of background noise to be suppressed could install a textured fountain that created a lot of soothing and yet effective sound as it operated.
Not only do fountains help to keep employees and visitors to an office extremely calm and relaxed, but they can also be used to make the overall atmosphere far more conducive to good results.

Wall Waterfalls Versus Freestanding Fountains
You may be debating between different types of water features—are you more interested in wall waterfalls or freestanding fountains? What are the pros and cons of the various types?
Wall waterfalls are generally designed to have a low horizontal profile. Despite the seemingly imposing presence of wall waterfalls, they take up very little space and can be hung easily, concealing their power cords behind them. This makes wall waterfalls an excellent choice when space is at a premium.
A wall waterfall can also be mobile if it is lightweight, which can be a boon for frequent redecorators or people who are planning a move. Since the wall mount can be separated from the waterfall, a wall waterfall is easy to clean and transport.
Freestanding water features, such as tabletop fountains, pedestal fountains, and large pool fountains, all take up significant amounts of space. Since they are not wall-mounted, they have a meaningful horizontal footprint and require a surface to be displayed on. This fact can also make it more difficult to conceal the power cord for a fountain of this type, unless it is permanently installed in the floor such that it cannot be moved. Of course, such an installation makes a tradeoff; although the power supply for the fountain is invisible, it is much more difficult to gain access to the power supply, and very challenging to relocate the fountain. Permanently placing a fountain should be regarded as a property-value increasing investment.
As far as emotional and health benefits, the various types of fountains are not easily distinguishable. Larger fountains generally provide a greater benefit, but a too-large fountain can be inappropriate for a small space; the amount of water vapor released by a large fountain can cause clammy feelings, discomfort, and wood rot if it is kept in too small a room or with inadequate ventilation.
When choosing between types of fountains, these factors can make a big difference, or they may not matter at all, depending on the circumstances of your particular decision. Think carefully about why you want a fountain. Do you need to fill a particular spot in your home? Do you want to achieve a specific effect? Do you want to use the fountain as a mild therapeutic tool or as an ornamental feature? Answering these questions for yourself will illuminate your choice.
