Growing Greens With Hay Racks and Coconuts

When we grow things we always want them to grow for a long time and we want them to be healthy.  Gardening is not just a hobby but a passion and everyone who wants to grow beautiful flowers and attractive plants must make sure that every element should work to complement each other.  There are several factors that one must consider when they decide to grow plants and one of those factors is the growing medium they need to use.  The medium used for planting should ideally be well-drained, is able to hold nutrients and moisture for long periods of time and should have an excellent air to water porosity.  There are already a lot of choices for the gardeners to select from as their medium of planting such as cultivated soil, coconut coir, peat, perlite, decomposed bark, vermiculite or even hydro gel. Mixture of some of these medium can be beneficial but one of the most common nowadays is the coconut coir or sometimes called hay rack.  Most people opt for the organic substances since they are convenient to use and improved the availability of the nutrients to the plants.  The reason for this is that the organic soil-less medium provides better properties both physically and chemically.  Coconut trees are some of the most beneficial trees that Mother Nature has provided mankind.  From the deepest of its roots to the very ends of its leaves, one can find endless uses for this tree.   The coir, which is the fiber that you can extract from the outer dusk of the coconut fruit, is used in making a lot of things like rope, mats and to produce soil treatment.  The coco coir, sometimes called the coco peat, is widely used in horticulture as a substitute for peat moss or it can be added to the soil so that it will increase the ability to hold water as well as nutrients for the plants. Once the coconut coir has been dried, sieved and screened it can them be packaged into bricks or even formed into a hay rack for window boxes.  On top of these all, the coco coir is natural and renewable, odorless, doesn't attract pests and weeds has good drainage, has high water capacity and has a near to neutral pH which is best for plants. Utilizing the organic substances is very beneficial for the environment as well as for gardening.  One can experience a better plant growth by using the hay rack especially if you grow plants in window boxes or in planter boxes.
