Hydraulic Clutch

Clutch can refer to any of various devices for engaging and disengaging two working parts of a shaft or of a shaft and a driving mechanism. It has a close relationship with vehicles. And there are various kinds of clutches which can be applied in different places.

Concentric hydraulic clutch is one kind of clutch which supplies for the transmission of power from one component to another. The opposite component of the clutch is the brake. Moreover, clutches are used whenever the ability to limit the transmission of power or motion needs to be controlled either in amount or over time. The following is the way to bleed the concentric hydraulic clutch system.

First of all, bench bleeds the master cylinder and the connecting line. Place the master cylinder in a vise or hold it down to a firm surface. If you use the vise, be careful not to over tighten the vise as you can damage the internal workings of the cylinder. With the connecting hose attached to the end of the master cylinder, use a small object to hold the end of the check valve open. Place the connecting hose into the reservoir of the master cylinder and fill it with brake fluid.

Secondly, there are two ways to fill the slave cylinder located inside the bell housing. Either removes it and fills it before installing the transmission, or by using a vacuum pump. Thirdly, install the quick disconnect line. At last, now that is all reassembled, there is probably a small amount of air trapped due to the installation of the quick disconnect fitting. This is very easy to bleed out now.

Some vehicles could be fitted with a hydraulic clutch. Especially in manual cars, when you engage the gear lever on your vehicle, the clutch system will interject and will take over the operation of the change of gear. As to the hydraulic clutch, it carries a reservoir of hydraulic fluid that is pressurized when the clutch is engaged during gear changes. It acts in conjunction with the clutch plate to disengage one gear and re-engage another. The hydraulic fluid is used in the reservoir and must be kept topped up at all times.

How does the hydraulic clutch work? Basically, the way it works is via the initial gear shift lever or gear stick. You press your foot into the clutch pedal and that action spins the flywheel into motion. This in turn acts with the pressure plate to disengage the clutch disc and stop Drive Shaft from turning. Inside the lever is a thrust bearing ring. The clutch plate is then released and the teeth reengage in the selected gear. In order to increase the service life of the hydraulic clutch, you should take some measures. For example, if your car has manual operation, try not to ‘ride' the clutch when you drive.
