Will the needle trick on whiteheads leave red marks all over my face? I have had these stubborn whiteheads all over my forehead.And am wanting to try the "needle trick" to fix it.But will it be possible to avoid all the red marks?

By "needle trick" do you mean piercing the whitehead with a needle and squeezing out the pus? This method will leave you with red marks, definitely. You can buy an over-the-counter 1% cortisone cream at the drugstore that you can put on the pimples to minimize the redness and inflammation. Don't do this often because the cortisone inhibits collagen production and that thins the skin which can, ultimately, leave you with indentations or wrinkles.

On the other hand, if by "needle trick" you mean going to the dermatologist's office and having each pimple injected, then this can remove all trace of a pimple within 24 hours, usually less if it's a small pimple. You might have only a slight red mark for a day or two but it can be covered very easily.

How stubborn are those whiteheads? Some people develop very small white bumps called milia. They can look like a very small whitehead. Fortunately, the treatment for the milia is also used for pimples. Buy a 2% salicylic acid acne spot treatment and apply it to the pimples. Be careful to not be too generous since it can cause the skin around the bump to flake and peel which can make the pimple look worse instead of better. Try Clean and Clear Spot Treatment or Mario Badescu Drying Lotion (I personally use this one).

Of course, a good skin care regimen is the first step to preventing and minimizing breakouts in the first place. I highly recommend seeing a good cosmetic dermatologist first, not as a last resort. Good luck with those spots!
